The first time I almost had a bad accident was coming into Chicago, trying to cross 2 lanes. But much worse than Chicago was Northern New Jersey, where I almost got run over at the merge of two 2-lane highways (probably US-1 and Garden State Parkway). I was in the center of 4 lanes with cars flying by and a car tried to cross lanes behind me. That was the closest call on this trip, and the Lord's protecting hand was truly present.
